I just googled them! Apparently there are 22 species of pigeon in Aus. There are only 5 or 6 in the UK and they’re all quite similar in appearance. The feral pigeon that London is well known for are usually refered to as flying rats!
I’d never seen pigeons with things on their heads until we went to Adelaide. Pigeons in Melbourne are ‘clean shaven’.

they are very common, but the rain forest pigeon around the coastal pats of Australia are just beautiful.

oh I dint know that, maybe they are just in the west Im sure Ive seen them on the coast????
Living in Adelaide, they are common, the baby ones look brilliant in their nests, a nest full of little mohicans 🙂
yes I thought they were a common bird, yes they are cute I used to have one just of my verandah in the nest.
